The effectiveness of the tick-borne encephalitis vaccine is up to 98%. Treatment and rehabilitation of this disease is more expensive than vaccines. Children can be vaccinated from the age of 1 year.

The vaccine provides protection against tick-borne encephalitis two weeks after the second dose (with both routine and accelerated vaccination schedules). When the first vaccination is given, protection is only established after the second vaccination. They therefore recommend getting the vaccine as early as possible in the spring, so that protection is already established when the weather warms up.
