What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are thin porcelain or composite “covers” fixed to the whole surface of a front tooth with the primary purpose of improving the aesthetic appearance of the teeth and smile. These can be placed over single or multiple teeth, similar in concept to false nails!

How do I know if the dental veneers are for me?

If you are interested in changing the color or shape of your teeth, veneers might be the solution for you. Dental veneers can also be used to lengthen teeth and improve your bite or fill gaps where orthodontics may not be suitable.

What to expect

A consultation with our dentists will determine whether veneers are the proper treatment to achieve your desired results. Fitting veneers may require the outer enamel surface of the tooth to be removed before the veneers are bonded to the tooth with special adhesive. In most cases this is a painless procedure but where more of the tooth’s surface needs to be removed, measures are taken to ensure your comfort throughout.
With proper care at home and regular visits to the hygienist and dentist, veneers can last for many years although they can still chip or break like natural teeth which can be repaired or replaced by one of our dentists.
